Student Group Engagement Specialist

Job Description

This FIT position will help the student with presentation skills, leadership, and technical skills. The student will be able to work on research and learn to present and analyze data. Students majoring in education studies, management, or communications may excel in this position, however any major can benefit.

Year 1
Responsibility/Function 

  • Work with HawkLink and Clubs
  • Research other university club training modules
  • Plan for multimedia training
  • Attend campus labs online training
  • Research video products for online training
  • Attend all club officer trainings
  • Sit on Student Life Involvement Ceremony (SLIC) planning committee
  • Begin process of creating manuals and modules 

Year 2
Responsibility/Function 

  • Continue with Year 1 responsibilities
  • Research Advisor manuals
  • Assist Associate Director in club officer training
  • Coordinate multimedia training on HawkLink
  • Create videos for website
  • Coordinate Student Life Involvement Ceremony (SLIC) awards process / Co-chair SLIC
  • Work with incoming class on new involvement
  • Publish updates of new club materials
  • Look at survey data for club officers
  • Update campus on CORQ, create club events

Year 3
Responsibility/Function 

  • Continue with Years 1 & 2 responsibilities
  • Create SLIC training manual
  • Update all manuals and video training
  • Work with SPL staff on new student interests
  • Create FIT intern manual for projects
  • Create/update club officer training videos
  • Work to train new FIT students
  • Coordinate club training
  • Publish Advisor manual
  • Re-evaluate all club training manuals
