Breaking the Brass Ceiling: Career Planning for Women Seeking Leadership Roles and Responsibilities in Policing

This one day seminar is designed to empower women in law enforcement to acquire positions of leadership within their agencies and the profession. Participants will discuss the role of women in policing and the value that they bring to the job, as well as strategies for professional development and building and strengthening resumes.
Discussions will be led by Chief Jody Kasper of the Northampton (MA) Police Department. In addition to her over twenty years in policing, three as chief, Chief Kasper is also an author of three books: Improving Motivation and Morale: A Police Leader’s Guide; Progressive Police Supervision: A Simple & Effective Approach for Managing a Police Agency; and, How Cops Die: Understanding and Preventing Duty-Related Deaths. There will also be a panel of chiefs representing municipal, college/university, and state police organizations that will discuss their experiences throughout the leadership process.
The cost for the seminar is $100.00 which covers continental breakfast and morning break, lunch, and all materials. Travel and lodging are the responsibility of the attendee, however area hotels have provided a special rate for personnel in attendance at this seminar.
