About the school
The School of Justice Studies offers majors, minors, and joint-degrees for both undergraduate and graduate students. We also offer several professional certificates. Through courses, students get in-depth views of the justice system, including the courts, policing, corrections, forensics, and cybersecurity.
Justice System Training & Research Institute provides a resource for applied research and professional development. It encourages the development of critical thinking skills, the use of empirical data, and fosters government, academic, and community partnerships.
We encourage students to gain invaluable hands-on experience and put their skills to the test at various agencies in the criminal justice field. Past students have interned at the R.I. Department of Corrections, the M.A. State Crime Lab, and Dell SecureWorks.
Our faculty and staff consists of academic experts and experienced criminal justice system practitioners from around the country. They are involved in all aspects of educating our students and guiding them to program completion and career success.
The professors in the School of Justice have just been amazing. They all have such different backgrounds, most of them in the justice system, so every class is something new that they're able to bring to what we're learning.
