Few human activities reveal our complex relationship with the Earth more clearly than the food system. What we eat and how it is produced directly shapes the health of our environment, while changes to air, soil, and water in turn affect the health of our bodies. This overnight camp for students in grades 10-12 offers hands-on experience with the tools and techniques food scientists use to create systems that are healthier, more sustainable, and accessible to all.

Our Marine Biology Camp is specifically for high school-aged students, and is a one-week introduction to coastal ecosystems. In addition to our state-of-the-art facilities, campers immerse themselves in the dynamic, thriving marine environments of the Southern New England coast. Campers will learn about coastal ecosystems through exploration of food webs, productivity of the sea, plants and animals in the coastal zone as well as current events in the field of marine biology and much more.

Through hands-on site visits, lively debates, and conversations with legal and political leaders, 34 Rhode Island students received a transformative learning experience envisioning their roles as future changemakers.

The annual RWU camp offers high school students an immersive introduction to the study of Marine Biology, featuring hands-on fieldwork and laboratory experiences.

The 28th annual academy offered students a comprehensive exploration of design principles and practices through immersive workshops, faculty mentorship, and collaborative projects.

During the week-long Food Science Camp, high school students learn about physics, sustainability, and social justice through hands-on experiments and field trips.
