Staff Assistant - Prof. Adam Moore

Job Description

The School of Education is seeking a work study student who is able to assist faculty in preparing documentation for submitting a proposal to the Rhode Island Department of Education for a special education graduate degree program (6 hours a week).

Required Qualifications:

  • Responsible
  • Has excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Is organized
  • Is self-directed and can take instructions easily
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Is an excellent writer, who can help edit documents

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Has knowledge of teaching profession
  • Is interested in special education as a career
  • Has previous experience working with faculty
  • Can work in the fall 2018 and spring 2019 semesters

Sample Tasks Include:

  • Align professional teaching standards to syllabi
  • Create tables and charts in Word documents
  • Compile list of contact information of special education professionals
  • Draft rubrics aligned to professional teaching standards
  • Research about special education programs and best practices to inform the proposal
  • Edit written documents
