Staff Assistant - Prof. Adam Moore
Job Description
The School of Education is seeking a work study student who is able to assist faculty in preparing documentation for submitting a proposal to the Rhode Island Department of Education for a special education graduate degree program (6 hours a week).
Required Qualifications:
- Responsible
- Has excellent oral and written communication skills
- Is organized
- Is self-directed and can take instructions easily
- Is proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Is an excellent writer, who can help edit documents
Preferred Qualifications:
- Has knowledge of teaching profession
- Is interested in special education as a career
- Has previous experience working with faculty
- Can work in the fall 2018 and spring 2019 semesters
Sample Tasks Include:
- Align professional teaching standards to syllabi
- Create tables and charts in Word documents
- Compile list of contact information of special education professionals
- Draft rubrics aligned to professional teaching standards
- Research about special education programs and best practices to inform the proposal
- Edit written documents
