Intramurals Supervisor

Job Description

  • Must be reliable, punctual and ready to work at least 30 minutes prior to start of scheduled events.
  • Person(s) will be responsible for setting up playing fields, courts, etc. prior to start of nightly schedule for particular sport.  This may include lining of fields at certain times of the year.
  • Supervisor is responsible for examination of game site prior to events to check for any unsafe playing conditions.  Person will be expected to correct any situations and/or report to Intramurals Coordinator.
  • Supervise and oversee game managers/scorekeepers and referees/officials.  Must make sure all employees are following and attending their nightly schedules and are performing duties properly and according to rules and regulations.
  • Show initiative in settling disputes and/or arguments during games.  Serious violations to be reported to Intramurals Coordinator.
  • Supervisors have authority to stop contests and/or eject individual players or teams.   If this occurs, Supervisor must be willing to fill out Incident Reports.
  • Must attend all required trainings, clinics and/or meetings.
  • Evening and weekend work is required.
  • Preference to returning workers, however others may be considered depending on individual.

NOTE:  All Intramurals work-study employees work for the Department of Athletics.  While main job functions are stated above, employees are required to assist in other areas within the department when requested and needed.

Special Skills Needed:         
Prior playing experience of particular sport is very helpful, but not completely necessary. 

*Students are prohibited from driving during work-study employment with the limited exception of authorized work-study driver positions.
