Intramural Games Scorekeeper and/or Timekeeper

Job Description

  • Must be reliable, punctual and ready to work at least 15 minutes prior to start of nightly schedule.
  • Assist with setting up playing fields, courts, etc. prior to nightly schedule.  This may include lining of fields at certain times of the year.
  • Assist Intramurals staff in examining game site(s) prior to events to check for any unsafe playing conditions.  Will be expected to correct any situations or report them to sport Supervisor.
  • Take score and keep time of Intramural games fairly and assist officials in keeping on top of nightly schedule as to not over-run allotted time for games.
  • Show initiative in settling disputes and/or arguments during games.  Serious violations to be reported to Supervisor.
  • Score and time keepers must be ready and willing to fill out Incident Reports if a game is stop or player(s) need to be ejected.
  • Must attend all required trainings, clinics and/or meetings.
  • Evening and weekend work is required.

NOTE:  All Intramurals work-study employees work for the Department of Athletics.  While main job functions are stated above, employees are required to assist in other areas within the department when requested and needed.

Special Skills Needed:         
Knowledge of particular sport is very helpful, but not completely necessary.  Will train right individuals.   

*Students are prohibited from driving during work-study employment with the limited exception of authorized work-study driver positions.
