Educational Testing Center
University College is home to the RWU Educational Testing Center, where you can take exams for certifications or to earn college credit for your knowledge base.
At the RWU Educational Testing Center you can take exams from key national vendors such as PearsonVue, Certiport, CLEP and Prometric. We are also a recognized Area Test Center for NOCTI’s Teacher Testing.
The Educational Testing Center Reservation Portal is open and testing candidates are able to reserve seats for 2023. Effective February 15, 2023, reservations for Certiport, CLEP, Prometric DSST and NOCTI will be accepted on Monday's only. PearsonVue testing is open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Once you have reserved and paid for your seat, you will be sent an e-mail confirming your reservation and providing you with detailed directions on how to find us, arrival time and the testing center guidelines.
Current Offerings
The RWU Educational Testing Center supports Teachers Testing only for NOCTI. NOCTI’s teacher assessments are designed to measure an individual’s knowledge of higher-level concepts, theories, and applications in specific technical areas and to evaluate individuals with a combination of education, training, and work experience. NOCTI works with Area Test Center (ATC) Coordinators to help create a program that includes training materials for coordinators, proctors, and evaluators. With over 50 technical areas, NOCTI offers a variety of tools and resources for CTE teacher candidates.

Scheduling an Exam directly with PearsonVue
Test candidates can schedule and pay for an exam directly with PearsonVue by telephone or by setting up an account on the website. However, the registration isn't finalized until a seat reservation is completed at the RWU Educational Testing Center. Prior to registering for a Pearson VUE test, you must purchase a voucher, as the RWU Educational Testing Center only accepts vouchers as payment for the tests. Click here to visit the PearsonVue Store to purchase a voucher.

CLEP offers 34 exams that cover introductory level college course material. With a passing score on one CLEP exam, you could earn three or more college credits at 2,900 U.S. colleges and universities.

Prometric- DSST is a leading provider of technology-enabled testing and assessment solutions to many of the world’s most recognized licensing and certification organizations, academic institutions, and government agencies.

There is no pre-pay/preregistration for tests. Candidates pay the test fee by credit card at the workstation at the time of testing.

The RWU Educational Testing Center only offers Microsoft Office Specialist certification through Certiport. Certiport is a Pearson VUE business, established in 1997 and is now the leading provider of certification exam development, delivery, and program management services. Certiport exams are delivered through an expansive network of over 14,000 Certiport Authorized Testing Centers worldwide.

The Educational Testing Center is located at One Empire St, Room 218, Providence, RI 02903. Our hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday–Friday. We are closed for all RWU holidays. There are two testing sessions held daily Monday through Friday, a morning session starting at 9 a.m. and an afternoon session starting at 1 p.m.
