Research, Policy and Practice Collaborative
Through the Research, Policy and Practice Collaborative, University College interfaces with the public and its leaders to identify and implement programs that benefit the university and the larger community. We are a thought partner and leader, working to solve problems, innovate, disrupt, and build new systems that create a positive and measurable impact for families, communities, and the State.
The collaborative, made up of the organizations below, provides a bridge for UC to the community's big issues. They provide us a “think and do” laboratory that faculty, students, and staff can leverage to better all of Rhode Island.
Center for Youth & Community Leadership in Education
CYCLE partners with communities and school districts looking to build collective power through grassroots leadership, amplifying organizing, advocacy, and relationship building.
As part of Roger Williams University, HousingWorks RI acts as a bridge for the university and the housing community. Additionally, it provides a “think and do” laboratory that faculty, students, and staff can leverage to better all of Rhode Island.
The Latino Policy Insititute stimulates public policy discussions and enhances the public’s understanding of the Rhode Island Latino experience.
Providence Talks is a nationally recognized program that aims to close the 30 million-word gap on a citywide scale to ensure every child enters kindergarten ready to succeed.
Ready to Learn aims to close the achievement gap for low-income students by working with family members and early-childhood educators.
