RWU has so much to offer!

Roger Williams University, located in historic Bristol, Rhode Island,  boasts a variety of different classroom and event spaces for conferences, camps and gatherings. Our classrooms and lecture halls are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, which makes planning your upcoming event simple.  Our campus is easily accessible to airports, train and bus stations, making traveling hassle-free.

Accommodations

Overnight accommodations are available from late May through August.  Overnight accommodations range from townhouses, apartment/suites and traditional residence halls. Most of our residence halls are air-conditioned, and many of them enjoy water views of Narragansett Bay.  All overnight rooms come with a single bed, desk, satellite TV and wireless Internet connection.  Linen service can be arranged.  If accommodations are needed during the school year, our trained staff can recommend appropriate off-site lodging to meet your needs.

The University's Baypoint Inn and Conference Center is located just two miles from campus over the Mt. Hope Bridge in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.  The Inn provides one location for event space and lodging, with overnight accommodations, functions space, pool and fitness center all under one roof.  Baypoint Inn rooms all come with double beds, private bathroom, desk, satellite TV and wireless Internet connection.  Linen service may be arranged.

Dining

Roger Williams University is proud to have Bon Appétit as their food service provider.  Once again, student satisfaction surveys have ranked Bon Appétit in the top five percent in the nation this year!  Guests routinely remark on the quality of our food and the attention to detail.  From offering local food to ensuring that vegetarians and those with special food needs are accommodated, the dining staff prides itself on providing outstanding service.

Bon Appétit is committed to using local and farm-fresh ingredients whenever possible. They are committed to sustainability and sponsor the Eat Local Challenge and Low Carbon Diet Day each year, as well as many other initiatives to help our campus be green.

The Upper Commons is the University’s main dining hall, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.  It’s "all you can eat," and the choices seem endless. You can enjoy classic offerings, pasta, pizza, a huge salad bar, soups and vegetarian items. Don't forget to try the tempting desserts, which are made in-house.

Bon Appétit's catering department provides a wide variety of offerings, from themed dinners and buffets, to conference lunches and snack breaks. Our conference staff will work with clients' needs and budgets to provide our groups with the very best that we have to offer.

Recreation

Staying on campus would not be complete without visiting our state-of-the-art Campus Recreation Center. Spend your down time working out in our two-story fitness center, playing racquetball or squash, swimming a few laps in our eight-lane pool with a diving well, shooting hoops or relaxing in the sauna or whirlpool tub. If outdoor activities are more your thing, take your basketball game outside, enjoy a game of tennis on our brand new courts, go for a run on our shell path along the bay, play a match of beach volleyball on our sand court or take part in one of our many waterfront activities.

Located 30 miles from both Newport and Providence, RWU is close to many of the premier summer festivals, regattas and historical sites that Rhode Island has to offer. Visit Blithewold Mansion and Arboretum, Linden Place, and the Herreshoff Marine Museum & America's Cup Hall of Fame, which are all within walking distance of campus. Newport offers numerous activities, including the International Tennis Hall of Fame, the famed Cliff Walks, Newport Mansions and miles of scenic beaches. The summer of 2012 welcomes sailing enthusiasts from around the world for the America's Cup World Series and the Tall Ships Festival. The RWU staff is happy to suggest and make arrangements for any type of activity that your group may be interested in.
