The RI Guarantee
The RI Guarantee is a transfer partnership between the Community College of Rhode Island and participating four-year colleges and universities. Eligible community college graduates are able to transfer seamlessly - admission guaranteed!
All of our undergraduate majors are available to pursue. Explore programs by school.
Requirements for General University Admission
1. Complete an associate's degree program at a Rhode Island community college and apply to transfer to a related course of study at RWU.
2. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.4.
*Please note that some majors have specific admission and curricular standards. Please contact us to discuss this information.
General Education Foundation
The Rhode Island Guarantee mitigates credit loss and increases student success by ensuring admission into participating independent colleges for associate degree holding students. The Agreement ensures acceptance at a participating Guarantee institution for associate degree holding students who have met a minimum GPA requirement (of a 2.0, 2.4 or 3.0).
Students will also have credits from their associate's degree transferred in as bulk credits. In total, students who enter under this agreement can transfer up to 75 credits, starting them in their junior year. Additional credits may be reviewed on an individual basis.
Costs and Financial Aid
RWU offers two options for students to transfer into:
- Students seeking to become a full-time student in our undergraduate programs on our Bristol campus would pay the traditional tuition and fees. They may also qualify for merit scholarships. Associates degree holders coming to the Bristol campus are guaranteed at least $20,000 per year in merit award.
- A University College (Providence campus) student taking a day program class is $1,581 per credit.
All students may apply for need-based financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Roger William University’s FAFSA school code is 003410.
Specific Program Information
The Rhode Island Guarantee does not apply for accelerated programs for Pharmacy and 3+3 law programs.
