Advising for Transfer Students
Transfer students are defined as students who have previously matriculated at one or more accredited institution(s). This does not include students who completed dual enrollment through their secondary education and/or students who received advanced placement (AP) credit through their secondary education.
Our goal for advising transfer students includes, but is not limited to:
- Mapping out remaining semesters of required major and core curriculum requirements based on student’s transfer evaluation
- Clarifying university policies that may differ from their previous institution(s)
- Integrating students with campus life and resources
- Addressing financial concerns, including making students aware of various financial aid outlets specialized for transfer and non-traditional students

Transferology is a database that provides students a way to see if their college level courses may transfer to schools that are part of the transferology network. This website is meant to be used as a guide for prospective students, not a guarantee that courses will transfer as there are many factors that contribute to transferring including grade received at the prior institution, accreditation of the transfer school's program, RWU program specific requirements, etc.

Faculty and staff interested in learning how to better support transfer students are welcome to join us for the Transfer Student Advocacy Workshop. Please keep an eye out on our page for updates or reach out to Sarah Mayer directly at smayer@rwu.edu.
Matriculated students seeking re-evaluation of previous coursework taken at another accredited institution to be transcripted as a specific RWU course must obtain dean/department chairperson approval. This form and recommended supplemental materials must be submitted to the appropriate dean or department chairperson for review.
