Elliot Hardy
Elliot Hardy, JD/MBA ’26, combines legal insight with business strategy to shape a dynamic career path.

Elliot Hardy, RWU Class of 2026

Business Administration (M.B.A.) + Juris Doctor

"As a dual-degree JD/MBA student, I’ve been able to bridge the gap between legal theory and practical business strategy. My legal training has sharpened my analytical and advocacy skills, while my MBA coursework has equipped me with a deep understanding of corporate finance, entrepreneurship, and management.

This combined foundation has shaped my goal of working in strategic advisory, venture capital, or business affairs within the entertainment or tech sectors.

The JD/MBA path has given me the flexibility to think creatively, assess risk, and execute with purpose."

- Elliot N. Hardy III, Roger Williams University School of Law, Class of 2026
Student Bar Association President 2025-2026

What made you choose to study at RWU over other schools?

I chose RWU’s MBA program because it offered flexibility, accessibility, and a strong emphasis on practical business application. As someone pursuing a dual JD/MBA, I was looking for a program that would complement my legal education while strengthening my understanding of finance, strategy, and organizational leadership. RWU’s smaller class environment and engaged faculty made it clear that I would not just be another number; I would be part of a collaborative academic community focused on real-world impact.

What campus organizations or activities outside of the classroom were you involved in? Please describe:

While completing my MBA, I also served as President of the Student Bar Association at RWU Law. That leadership experience allowed me to apply principles from my MBA coursework in real time; including organizational behavior, strategic communication, budgeting, and stakeholder management. Balancing both programs strengthened my time management skills and reinforced the importance of leading with clarity and accountability. The ability to connect business strategy with institutional leadership was one of the most valuable aspects of my graduate experience.

How did the RWU graduate admissions team help with your transition into grad life?

The graduate admissions team made the process seamless and supportive. From initial inquiry through enrollment, they were responsive and transparent about expectations. Their guidance helped me confidently structure my dual-degree path and understand how the MBA would integrate with my legal studies. That clarity made the transition into graduate-level work far less intimidating.

What stood out about your academic or classroom experience at RWU?

What stood out most was how practical and discussion-driven the MBA coursework was. Classes emphasized real business scenarios, data-driven decision-making, and strategic thinking rather than abstract theory. Courses in finance, strategic management, and data analytics pushed me to think quantitatively and operationally. The classroom dynamic encouraged collaboration and diverse perspectives, which mirrored real business environments.

How as your graduate degree or certificate prepared you for success?

The MBA has strengthened my ability to evaluate risk, interpret financial statements, assess market dynamics, and communicate strategy clearly. Combined with my legal education, it has given me a framework for making balanced decisions that consider both compliance and profitability. The program has prepared me to operate confidently in business-facing roles where legal and commercial considerations intersect.

What advice would you give students planning to go to graduate school?

Approach graduate school with intention. Take advantage of networking opportunities, build relationships with professors, and actively connect classroom lessons to real-world applications. The value of the degree extends beyond coursework; it’s about developing discipline, perspective, and the ability to lead in complex environments.
