Rewriting Ukrainian History: Scholars Under Pressures of Legacy, Politics, and War

Liz (Ielyzaveta) Shchepetylnykova is a long-standing civil society activist and researcher of higher education in Ukraine. She will discuss her study of challenges experienced by Ukrainian historians amid Russia’s deliberate efforts to recast Ukrainian history, culture, and identity to meet its political objectives and ambitions.
