Bob McGann

Prior to his current role in collegiate teaching, Robert McGann was actively involved in real estate development for more than thirty years as a corporate Vice President of Store Development, Director of Real Estate, Commercial Appraiser and Investor. This experience is augmented by an MBA degree from Northeastern University focused on acquisitions and investment analysis as well as affiliations and certifications with real estate development trade groups and a BS from Bridgewater State University. 

Specifically, Mr. McGann was employed as Senior Director of Real Estate for a joint venture half owned by Shell Oil and led all land development efforts for new fuel sites and acquisitions. Prior to that, he held the position of Vice President Store Development for a convenience retailer where he was responsible the functions of multi-site and single-site acquisitions, site development, construction, store services and maintenance and environmental management and remediation. 

Overall, Mr. McGann has been involved in developing over a hundred retail and residential units as well as managing the acquisition of approximately 150 retail sites. As part of this background, Mr. McGann has developed a keen knowledge of cash flows, legal and government impacts, environmental aspects of soil and underground water conditions and how they all relate to the due diligence and feasibility of real estate development. Overall, his practical and academic experience has made for a well-rounded professional in the real estate development field. 

Presently Mr. McGann is an Adjunct Professor at Roger Williams University in the Cummings School of Architecture and teaches Real Estate Economics, Capital Markets and Investments as well as Market Analysis at the graduate and undergraduate levels. He is also an Adjunct Professor periodically at another New England College in the Master of Real Estate Development program, teaching Site Assessment and Analysis.
