Things to do Off Campus

Staying on campus to relax is nice, but nothing beats going off campus with friends or alone to explore Rhode Island. Here’s a list of things you can do:

• Go to downtown Providence: Providence is Rhode Island’s main city and it is full of things you can do. During the day, you can walk around and go shopping. At night, you can go to the movies and grab dinner in one of the hundred restaurants there. To get there, you just need to take the RIPTA, an uber or carpool with some friends.  
• Stay in Bristol: Bristol is home to multiple local jewels. If you’re not feeling going too far away from campus, downtown Bristol is always a great idea. Restaurants like Nacho Mama’s, Bristol House of Pizza, and Joe’s Shack are RWU favorites. Colt State Park and Bristol’s Town Beach are a couple of minutes away. Walking following the bike track and waterline when is nice out is another great option.
• Visit Newport: Newport is a favorite of RWU students. Newport is the perfect place to walk around a Sunday morning and grab brunch by the water. The town always looks postcard perfect, making it a favorite for pictures as well. Its marine vibe attracts tourists from all around the country. 
• Explore Fall River: Fall River is another city near campus. It is a historical city and has multiple historical landmarks worth visiting at least once during your stay at RWU. Fall River counts with several restaurants as well but is more famous because of its laser tag place; a great activity to do with friends on a weekend night.
