Job Description

Build Professional Foundations: Office Operations & Administrative Support

Are you looking to develop the essential professional skills needed for any professional business or organization? The School of Engineering, Computing and Construction Management (SECCM) is looking for Student Office Assistants to join our Dean's Office team. This role provides a foundation in office operations, offering hands-on experience in project management and professional communication. 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Front-Facing Support: Greet office guests, assist students with questions, and answer phones professionally.
  • Administrative Operations: Manage daily tasks including sorting mail, organizing office resources, replenishing supplies, copying, shredding, and making deliveries.
  • Project Assistance: Assist staff with event planning, event marketing, and small research projects.
  • Events: Attend events such as Accepted Student Days, Open House, Orientation and others and assist with setting up display material and other duties as assigned
  • Operational Documentation: Learn to identify office tasks and turn them into written procedures, then analyze the effectiveness of those workflows.
  • Physical Requirements: This position requires occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Work-Study Eligible: You must have an active work-study award to apply.
  • Professional & Reliable: Candidates must be dependable, professional, and able to work well with all levels of RWU Individuals.
  • Reliable and Dependable: Able to work a minimum of 5 hours per week (and up to 20 hours) during the academic year. Your team members are depending on you, be there on time and ready to meet all deadlines.
  • Integrity: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Tools: Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel) is preferred; knowledge of Canva, Adobe, and social media is a plus but not required.
