About Fernanda Righi

Fernanda Righi (Ph.D., University of California, Davis) is a Lecturer of Spanish and the Interdisciplinary Minor Coordinator for the Latin American and Latino Studies (LALS), Gender and Sexuality Studies (GSS), and Public Humanities and Arts (PHA) programs at Roger Williams University.

She teaches courses in Spanish language, Latin American literature and culture, and Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Her research focuses on twentieth- and twenty-first-century Latin American literatures and cultures, particularly in Argentina and Brazil, with an emphasis on gender, labor, and activism.

Dr. Righi is an ACTFL Full Certified OPI Tester and a certified CELPE-Bras oral examiner. She also serves as the Board Representative of the Women’s and Gender Studies Caucus at the Northeast Modern Language Association (NeMLA) (2026- 2029)
