Student Events Photographer

Job Description

SPLO is a busy, but FUN environment to work. Student Photographer will work with the Social Media and Marketing team to ensure photos are taken for combined project such as social media posting, guides for Orientation and website photos Most of our incoming first year students stay with us throughout their four years at RWU.

Applicants should have an upbeat attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

ALL SPLO student workers are required to work two Special Events each semester with pay. One shift during Homecoming & Family Weekend in October and the Spring Concert in April. NO Exceptions!! These are fun events and enjoyed by all the students and we do make provisions for you to enjoy the events as well!

Primary Duties:

Student photographer duties include attending and photographing campus events as requested; editing
photos; and uploading photos to the appropriate storage drive in a timely manner (typically within 3 business days of the event). Students will cover events on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.; some weekend events will be scheduled ahead of time. Student Photographer will work with the Social Media and Marketing team to ensure photos are taken for combined project such as social media posting, guides for Orientation and website photos.

Students will need to submit a photography sample as part of the application

Special Skills Needed:

  • Ability to handle a busy multi-task environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Microsoft Office knowledge necessary
  • Willingness to help others
  • Positive attitude and customer service skills

*Students are prohibited from driving during work-study employment with the limited exception of authorized work-study driver positions.
