Student Assistants - Study Abroad

Job Description

The Study Abroad Student Staff Assistant is a key member of the Study Abroad team, supporting the daily operations of a fast-paced, student-centered office. Working under the supervision of the Study Abroad Director, Program Manager, and Administrative Assistant, this role serves as a primary point of contact for students exploring global opportunities.

This position is ideal for a student who is organized, approachable, and interested in international education or student services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for students and visitors, providing general information and directing inquiries to appropriate staff
  • Answer phones, respond to basic inquiries, and assist with front office coverage
  • Support administrative operations, including processing paperwork, scanning and uploading documents, and maintaining organized records
  • Assist with distribution of materials across campus and support office logistics
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and organized office environment
  • Collaborate with team members while also managing assigned tasks independently 

Additional Expectations

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all student records and sensitive information
  • Represent the Study Abroad office in a professional, friendly, and student-focused manner
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and assist with special projects as needed 

Schedule

  • Hours fall between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday
  • Schedule will be determined based on student availability and academic commitments 

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study (contact the Financial Aid Office for details)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, reliable, and self-motivated
  • Comfortable engaging with students and providing customer service
  • Familiarity with social media platforms preferred

Starting Date:    August  26, 2026 (Fall Semester, preferably the first week) 

*Students are prohibited from driving during work-study employment with the limited exception of authorized work-study driver positions.
