Gigon Guyer Partner Architekten

As founding partners, Annette Gigon and Mike Guyer have been running the office in Zurich since 1989.

With museum buildings such as the Kirchner Museum Davos, the Kunstmuseum Appenzell or the Archaeological Museum and Park Kalkriese, Germany, their office attained publicity early on. Alongside other museums, their activities have expanded continually, including residential and office buildings such as the Prime Tower in Zurich, the Würth House in Rorschach, and the conversion of the Löwenbräu site.

Over the years, they have received much recognition for their work both within and beyond their home country, including the Fritz-Schumacher-Preis in Germany, the RIBA Fellowship in the United Kingdom and the Daylight-Award, one of Switzerland’s most prestigious architecture prizes.

Between 2012 and 2023 Annette Gigon and Mike Guyer also taught as full professors of architecture and construction at the Department of Architecture (D-ARCH) of the ETH Zurich.

Since November 2024, they have been managing the office together with their partners Christian Maggioni and Stefan Thommen under the new name Gigon Guyer Partner Architekten AG. And in January 2026, Ivana Beljan, Matthias Clivio, Urs Meyer and Pieter Rabijns became associates of Gigon Guyer Partner Architekten.

Most of their completed buildings resulted from successful  competition entries, while a few were direct commissions.
