Welcome to Voices online magazine!

My name is Jay Quiles (She/They) and I am an English Literature major with a minor in Creative Writing. I am so glad to be a part of the amazing team of editors for Voices!

My first introduction to this amazing opportunity as a FITz member was during my orientation here at Roger. Another FIT intern was telling me how much of a great fit I would be in the team and all about the kinds of things we would work on together. I will always remember how excited I felt hearing that I could be an integral part of the English Department, especially when I heard about the Voices online magazine.

As an English major, I’ve had the pleasure to partake in many classes that have made me feel engaged and like my voice truly mattered. I would have to say that the class I have enjoyed the most so far has been Finding Ourselves with Dr. Jacobs, the different perspectives I am able to experience in that class along with the invigorating discussions makes it delightful to be in. Additionally to the fact that the course subject is just fascinating on its own as well!

I hope that you are able to feel open to connect with any of us here, as we are all very welcoming within this community of Roger Williams University. If for any reason you would like to reach out to me, you can contact me at jquiles689@g.rwu.edu.

All the best, always,

Jay Quiles
