Organization: East Bay Community Action Program

Location: 19 Broadway, Newport, RI   

Schedule

Flexible schedule with available hours Monday through Friday 8am – 4pm. 

Position Overview

The food pantry support staff will assist in the daily operations of the food pantry, helping to provide food and resources to individuals and families in need within the community. This role offers hands-on experience in non-profit operations, community service, and food distribution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Distribution:
    Assist in the sorting, packing, and distribution of food items to clients.
    Help maintain an organized and efficient food pantry environment.
  • Client Interaction:
    Greet and assist clients in a friendly and respectful manner.
    Provide information about available resources and services.
  • Inventory Management:
    Monitor food inventory levels and assist with restocking shelves.
    Help maintain accurate records of food donations and distributions.

Easily accessible by RIPTA Bus #60 (34 minutes door-to-door)
