RWU’s Co-Lab for Public Humanities lecture series “Hidden Truths: Stories of Race and Place” series featured a virtual presentation February 6, 2024 by the Cummings School’s Edgar Adams, Professor of Architecture, on “Equitable Renewal: Reclamation and Repair”.

Adams’ presentation shared the work of his architectural design studio that responded to Providence Mayor Jorge Allorza’s commitment beginning in 2020 to a municipal reparations strategy following the death of George Floyd. Adams offered a community-engaged architecture design studio in collaboration with the organizers of Providence’s reconciliation framework, examining three sites of past trauma, utilizing design as a tool for reconciliation. RWU’s Hidden Truths series is in its fourth year.
