Assistant Swimming Coach (Graduate Assistant)
Position Description
This position will carry extensive responsibilities with regards to recruiting, administrative functions, lifeguard & pool management, and overall swim training.
Responsibilities for position will include but are not limited to: Coaching, scheduling, the recruitment and selection of qualified prospective student-athletes; support of the academic progress of student-athletes; scheduling and conducting regular practice sessions; developing and implementing strategies for motivating student-athletes to perform at maximum levels.
Qualifications
Graduate Assistant Swimming Coach qualifications should include a working knowledge of the sport of swimming, competitive swimming experience at the collegiate level, and coaching experience. This position will require some administrative duties so the candidate must possess organizational skills as well as basic computer proficiency. Bachelor’s degree required. Strong communication skills are necessary.
Salary and Eligibility
$9,600 annual salary, 20 hours per week, 10-month position. The position includes 12 credit hours of tuition remission per academic year toward eligible Roger Williams University graduate programs.
Eligibility: Degrees available for remission include the M.S. in Leadership, Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.), M.S. in Criminal Justice, and M.S. in Cybersecurity programs. Other programs may be considered based on scheduling and program availability. Remission may be adjusted depending on the program selected.
Placement Term
The position runs for two years beginning with the fall 2023 semester and ending May 31, 2025.
