Ann Gibson Winfield earned her Ph. D. in Educational Research and Policy Analysis with a concentration in Curriculum Studies. Associate Professor Winfield teaches Foundations of Education, comprised of the history, philosophy, and sociology of the field as well Issues in Multicultural Education and Curriculum Studies. Dr. Winfield’s research focuses on curriculum history and the history of education with a specific focus on eugenic ideology and its influence on our modern system of public education. She is the author of Eugenics and Education in America: Institutionalized Racism and the Implications of History, Ideology, and Memory, as well as numerous book chapters and journal articles.
