Campaign Management Certificate

Political Science examines the institutions that govern our societies and the policy decisions that affect every part of our lives. At RWU, you’ll sharpen your thinking, writing and debate skills in classes such as American politics, international relations, comparative politics, political theory and public administration. Combined with real-world internship experience -- locally and in Washington, D.C. -- you’ll be prepared for a career in law, business, public policy or education.

At RWU, our interdisciplinary International Relations major celebrates human endeavor, diversity and opportunity by drawing upon subjects like history, sociology, economics, modern language and political science. Through internships, study abroad and specialization in either globalization, culture or area studies, you’ll learn the practical diplomacy, communication and critical thinking skills needed to help make a difference in the world in careers such as government, consulting and intelligence.

The Public Policy Certificate provides a foundational understanding of public policy formulation, analysis, and implementation. This program equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to engage in informed and effective policy-making processes, preparing them for careers in government, non-profit organizations, advocacy groups, and the private sector. Students will develop leadership and analytical skills in specific policy areas of interest.

The Diplomacy Certificate prepares students to collaboratively and effectively work in negotiating, mediating, and resolving the complex global issues that plague the world. These issues cross disciplinary lines and involve states, international organizations, multinational corporations, and nongovernmental organizations. The certificate is broadly focused to allow for students to pursue careers in any area concerned with how foreign policy is formed and implemented.

The Global Development Certificate prepares students to tackle global challenges and improve the well-being of people and the planet worldwide. This interdisciplinary certificate is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in global development policymaking and practice in areas such as economic development, environmental issues, public health, food security, and gender equality.
