Student Engagement Graduate Assistant
Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Student Programs, Leadership, & Orientation (SPLO), the Student Engagement GA will serve as a multifaceted asset to the Division of Student Life and the university. The GA will be responsible for interacting with various student populations, clubs and organizations in assisting with a robust student life. The GA will have the opportunity to create programming, supervise students and serve as an event manager for campus traditional events.
- Assist in advising, recruitment and retention, and large-scale programming for student clubs and organizations
- Provide Event Management for Club and Organization programming
- Provide oversight on specific signature programming (Weeks of Welcome, Homecoming and Family Weekend, Student Life Achievement Awards)
- Assist in training student clubs and organization on Hawk Link/Roger Link
- Market, facilitate, and evaluate Hawk’s Leadership Academy
- Assist with recruitment, selection and training of Orientation Advisor staff
- Ability to supervise work study students
- Assist in coordination of large scale events (Homecoming and Family Weekend, Admissions Events, Student Leadership Involvement Ceremony, Student Life Awards, etc)
Required Qualifications
- Must be current RWU graduate student
- Be in good academic and judicial standing with the University and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Previous student leader experience (including orientation advisor, resident assistant or similar student leader position)
- Willingness to work with and mentor undergraduate students
- Experience and comfort with facilitating and presenting to groups
- Adhere to strict confidentiality policies (and sign confidentiality agreement) when working with students and accessing student records
- Strong interpersonal, phone, and email skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Position may include night and weekend events
Must be a current graduate student at RWU. This role will be available for the 2025-2026 academic year.
May work 20 hours/week, paid at $20/hour up to $4,000 per academic year.
