Graduate Assistant for Cybersecurity Programs
The Cybersecurity Graduate Assistant will report directly to the Cybersecurity program Director and will be responsible for building experimental virtual labs, managing cybersecurity servers, and maintaining the CARDS website.
- Maintaining the CARDS page.
- Mange cyber servers.
- Build virtual labs that help students attain industrial certification.
- Help prepares for annual competitions
Required Qualifications
- Must be a current RWU graduate student enrolled in a cybersecurity, information technology, or STEM program
- Strong background in cybersecurity, computer science, computer information systems, or related STEM field
- Strong interpersonal and soft skills
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more industrial certifications related to cybersecurity
- Experience with cyber competitions
- Proficiency or familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Wireshark for packet analysis, Nmap for network scanning, or Metasploit for penetration testing
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls
- Experience with Active Directory, LDAP, or Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) implementation
- Ability to monitor and interpret logs from SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools like Splunk or ELK Stack
Must be a current graduate student at RWU. This role will be available for the 2026-2027 academic year.
May work 20 hours/week, paid at $20/hour up to $4,000 per academic year.
