Graduate and Law Student Housing
At Roger Williams University, graduate and law students have the option to live in apartment-style housing designed to support both academic focus and independent living. Graduate and School of Law Housing provides a comfortable residential environment where students can balance the demands of advanced study while remaining connected to the university community.

Living in RWU Graduate or School of Law housing offers a blend of convenience, safety, and value that is hard to beat:
- All-Inclusive Pricing: One monthly cost covers water, electricity, WiFi, and heat (without any utility caps or hidden fees).
- Build-In Safety & Support: Almeida is overseen by live-in Resident Assistants, a Graduate Community Assistant, and monitored by Public Safety, offering an added layer of security and support throughout the year.
- Reliable Shuttle Service: All residents have access to our shuttle running between Almeida, the Bristol Campus, and occasionally downtown Bristol making it easy to get to classes, campus resources, town stores, and events withouot needing a car.
Housing Contract
Residents sign a houhsing agreement outlining expectations for community living, policies, and occupancy terms. This agreement helps ensure a safe and respectful residential experience for all community members.
2026-2027 Graduate/School of Law Housing Contract
The 2026-2027 housing contract term runs from August 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. All leases are for an 11-month term and are non-extendable unless you are approved for houhsing for the 2027-2028 academic year.
If your begin your lease after August 1, 2026, you are still required to move out by June 30, 2027.
One Year Placements
Due to limited space within the Graduate and School of Law housing community, housing if offered as a one-year placement and is not guaranteed in subsequent years. Students should plan accordingly and explore alternative housing options beyond their first year.
This policy is designed to maintain a balanced distribution of available spaces between new and returning student, ensuring fair access to on-campus housing.
Waitlist & Emergency Housing Information
Due to anticipated high demand, many applicants may be placed on a waitlist. Students are strongly encouraged to plan accordingly.
Residence Life & Housing, in collaboration with the Graduate School and School of Law, reserves the right to prioritize assignments based on emergency situations or other special considerations.
Returning students with documented emergency housing needs will be prioritized during the review of returning applicantions, subject to space availability, and at the discretion of Residence Life & Housing.
Housing Deposit Required for All Students
Please note that all students, returing and new, must submit a $350 housing deposit in order to be placed in campus housing. Your housing placement will not be processed until your deposit is received. Submitting your deposit on time is the key step that officially secures your spot in the selection process.

*Individuals with approved non-RWU student partners must reside in the Almeida Flats. Non-student partners will not be approved in the Townhouses.
How to Apply for Housing
You must pay your full seat deposit and housing deposit through the Student Account Center in Roger Central.

- Priority Deadline:
- Monday, May 18th, 2026 - Current Graduate/Law Students in Housing for continued occupancy interest
- Tuesday, May 26th, 2026 - Law Students
- Monday, June 2nd, 2026 - Graduate Students
- Applications submitted after the priority deadline will be reviewed on a rolling basis and are highly likely to be waitlisted due to limited availability.
