Prof. Burt has been teaching at RWU since 2008 and has been a faculty writing tutor at the Tutoring Center since 2018.
She's also taught writing courses at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth and Bristol Community College in both Fall River and New Bedford.
She has a Master of Arts in Professional Writing degree and has worked with Spinner Publications in New Bedford to edit and proofread five books. She acted as lead editor for its "Moby Dick: A Picture Voyage", which included abridging the story.
She has also edited and proofread a professional website, course proposal, and resume for faculty members at UMass-Dartmouth and RWU.
In her free time, she enjoys playing the flute with the Swansea Community Musicians and the UMassD Wind Ensemble, playing board games with friends, reading, talking about books in two book clubs, and doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles.
