Your child is at war. Is he safe? Turner claims to know. He sells the information, but if he has the truth, why does he hire Eric to deliver it? Alice and Gerald are about to find out.

Moonlight and Magnolias, by Ron Hutchinson

Moonlight and Magnolias is the (mostly) true story of the writing of Gone With the Wind in 1939 when David Selznick stopped three weeks into production, fired his director and friend George Cukor and convinced his father-in-law and back Louis B. Mayer to pull Victor Fleming of TheWizard of Oz so he can take over the production.  But Selznick was also unsatisfied with the script so he hired legendary script doctor (and playwright, novelist, and journalist) Ben Hecht to do a re-write.  It was costing Selznick $50,000 a day to idle the production and, Hecht who hadn’t read the book, can only give him a week.  Selznick locked Fleming and Hecht in his office, and on a diet of bananas and peanuts put them to work to save the picture and his career.  And it’s all true (mostly).

Directed by Jeffrey Martin
