AIAS Freedom by Design builds at Bristol Town Beach

Students in the AIAS Freedom By Design group are building a ticket booth for entry to the Bristol Town Beach. The group has received funding from Bristol Town Council, the Rotary Club, and National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. The structure will be completed in late Spring 2024. Adjunct Faculty BG Shanklin is the project advisor, Joe Gomes from the School of Engineering, Computing and Construction Management is the construction advisor, and Associate Dean Greg Laramie is the AIAS Chapter advisor. Prior AIAS Freedom By Design projects completed  include the Bristol Garden of Hope for the Town of Bristol (2016), an Outdoor Classroom at the Newport Pell School (2018), and the Bike Newport Outdoor Pavilion (2022)
