Roger Williams University Top 5 for Construction Management
New ranking puts RWU among nation’s best 4-year construction management degree programs, citing “well-rounded” education, small class sizes, peer mentorship, dedicated advisers and tutorial support center
BRISTOL, R.I. – Roger Williams University ranks among the top five for four-year construction management degree programs, according to a new national ranking.
The Community for Accredited Online Schools (AccreditedSchoolsOnline.org) analyzed more than a dozen school-specific metrics for both online and on-campus programs, including graduation rates and student-teacher ratios. RWU, which offers an on-campus program in Bristol, ranked fifth out of 49 four-year construction management degree programs in the nation, according to the report.
“A bachelor of science degree in construction management at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island offers students a well-rounded education including courses in engineering, construction, business, mathematics, science and liberal arts in order to help the student achieve the necessary skills it takes to develop budgets, oversee building projects and manage project schedules,” the report said.
“With scholarships starting at $4,000 per academic year as well as need-based grants, the college also offers federal student aid for approximately 95 percent of students,” the report said. “Small class size, a peer mentorship program, dedicated academic advisers, and a tutorial support center, all assist each student's success.”

“It’s nice to see that online ranking systems are starting to recognize the success of the program," said Professor B. Gokhan Celik, RWU’s construction management program coordinator. "It’s actually one of the top programs in the country, and it has been for a very, very long time.”
Celik noted the construction management degree program has maintained a 100 percent employment rate at the time of graduation for several years now – meaning that every graduate who is seeking a job has a job, while a few others pursue graduate studies instead of immediately entering the job market.
“Our goal is to make sure they are successful 10, 20, 30 years into their careers,” Celik said. “And being part of Roger Williams University — with its strong culture of collaboration between liberal arts and professional programs — allows us to produce graduates that become leaders in the construction industry. They’re well-rounded, with very strong technical skills as well as very strong personal skills.”
