MediaTech - IT Graduate Assistant Level 3

Position Description
Provide support and assistance to students, faculty and staff in classrooms and events around campus. Serve as liaison between students, faculty and staff, and RWU IT staff members. This position requires excellent customer service and communication skills in person and on the phone. The ability to work independently also required. Desk is open every day of the week.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technology support, seeking answers to more complex problems, and arranging for follow-up resolution if the problem cannot be resolved immediately.
- Assist with support for Macintosh and Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, web browsers, rCloud, printing, and network connections.
- Enter all calls, email messages and walk-in issues into Fresh Service tracking system.
- Create MediaTech documentation.
- Keep up-to-date with current technologies and skills through training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Expectations
- Must be a current graduate/law student at Roger Williams University
- Specialized knowledge or previous experience required.
- Student can work independently with limited supervision
- Work assignments are highly technical and/or complex and the methodology may or may not be prescribed.
- Jobs involve a significant degree of responsibility and judgment.
- The employee is responsible for the results.
- Frequently coordinating the work of low level student employees.

- Approximately 8-10 hours/week paid at $13/hour up to $3,000 per academic year.
Placement Term
The position will be effective for the 2021-2022 academic year with the option to be considered for further placement for students pursuing a two-year plan of study.
