The School of Justice Studies Forensics, Advanced Networking and Security Center (FANS) was the first program on campus to offer virtual desktops to students. Dr. Doug White, Director of the FANS Center, implemented virtual desktops in 2011 that allowed all the students in the program to access and utilize the range of applications required for their courses 24/7/365.
FANS students use VPN and VMWare desktop which is Windows 7 desktop with Encase and FTK 4.2 already installed and working. This is a different process than the Samsung/Dell/Citrix Receiver solution used by the SAAHP and SCS students. Dr. White has provided informative narrated video instructions to guide students through connecting to the server and logging in.
Students should check their Bridges FANS courses for additional information.
