Going to college is an exciting time. It is a time for gaining new knowledge and experiences, both inside and outside the classroom. Here are a few resources for staying healthy and safe in college.
- Eat a healthy and balanced diet
- Stay active. Adults need at least 30 minutes of physical activity a minimum of 5 days a week
- Get 7 to 8 hours of sleep per day.
- Manage stress and maintain balance.
- Get tested for sexually transmitted infections and know your status.
- Know the dangers of binge drinking and limit alcohol.
- Know the dangers of cigarette smoking and juuling. Don't smoke.
- Avoid illicit drug use.
- Seek help from Health Services or the Counseling Center if you are depressed or experiencing distress.
