Contact Tracing Intern at RWU

Job Description

As RWU works hard to protect our campus against COVID-19, we are engaging members of our own community in this important work. 

Duties involve a range of activities in support of the COVID-19 Prevention and Response Team at RWU.  This includes: conducting secondary contact tracing for positive COVID-19 cases, supporting the implementation of COVID-19 screening protocols, providing tele-support to students in quarantine, working with other campus student leaders to promote public health prevention strategies.  Students will receive supervision and training from faculty and staff from the RWU Department of Public Health, the RWU Health Services Department, and the Feinstein Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement. Students will participate in trainings and webinars regarding COVID-19, public health response strategies, and public health/health services and community engagement ethics.

This is designed as a semester position within the Community Service Work Study program, with students receiving training, professional development, and supervision to support their role as student leaders on the COVID-19 Prevention and Response Team. 

Special Skills: 
A high level of professionalism and responsibility is required.  Interns will assume a primary role in promoting adherence to university standards for COVID Response and Prevention amongst their peers.  Interns must understand and adhere to strict confidentiality standards. 
Applicants should be open to close supervision and feedback, and to continuous training regarding the COVID-19 virus and public health responses.

Academic Major Preferred: 
Open to all majors but preferred background in Public Health or the Pre-Professional Health Sciences.  Prior experience in public health, emergency response and/or health professions will be considered.
