Sponsorship
Each year, we welcome organizations to serve as sponsors at our events.  We offer a wide range of customizable opportunities to meet your branding and recruiting needs.

Career Fairs
Roger Williams University offers two major career fairs and three niche fairs throughout the academic year.  Our fall and spring career fairs are our largest events of the year, welcoming over 110 employers respectively. Additionally, we offer a number of industry related panel discussions and networking receptions.

Information Sessions and Industry Presentations
Employers are invited to facilitate presentations as a way to educate students about the many careers available within their industry and organization.  Employers may have the opportunity to host their own company information session, speak as part of a formal panel discussion, or work with the Center for Career & Professional Development staff, faculty and/or student organization to arrange a visit for the purposes of an industry presentation.

Mock Interviews and Resume Critiques
Throughout the year, employers are invited to campus to conduct resume critiques and practice interviews with students.  These sessions are a great way to further develop your organization’s brand on campus, meet students, and help students learn important career preparation skills.

Tabling
Employers may visit campus and set up a table to meet students in the Center for Career & Professional Development.

Employer Site Visits
Employers may sponsor an employer site visit for Roger Williams University students and faculty.

Winter Externship/Job Shadowing Program

The Winter Externship/Job Shadowing Program is an opportunity for first and second year students to explore possible career fields and gain exposure to the professional work environment. Participants will visit a host organization for one day to three days, and learn firsthand how classroom learning can be linked to career choices and further educational goals. Job shadowing can help students obtain knowledge that comes only from being in the job setting. Students will:

  • Learn about an industry of interest and career options within it
  • Interact with professionals at their workplace
  • Gain knowledge to determine if your major and/or career path is a good fit
  • Link knowledge and skills acquired in class to the workplace
  • Explore possibilities for an internship

Ideas for Attracting RWU Students

  • Early Identification: Hiring interns is a fantastic way to train and identify talent early.  The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) says that interns are nearly 60% likely to convert to a full-time employee from a previous experience.
  • Campus Branding: Volunteer for educational programs, participate in panel discussions, share free pizza or cookouts with students during company information session, and be active in career fairs.  The CCPD can work with you to create a plan and a schedule that matches your resource allocation abilities with current activity on campus.
  • Recruiting Top Talent: Find the best-fit talent for your organization from New England and around the globe. By getting involved with RWU, you can hire students with teamwork skills and experience with faculty-lead research, industry recognized competition and design projects. You will find that RWU talent also has a natural tendency to work quickly and resourcefully to accomplish your organization’s goals
  • Sponsorship: Capture the attention of faculty, staff, and students by becoming a CCPD Professional Development sponsor.  We offer various levels and benefit packages for your organization to gain branding value and access to a number of stakeholders at RWU.

Typically, information sessions are scheduled the night before on-campus interviews, or a few days prior to the application deadline.  There is no fee associated with corporate presentations or information sessions.
