Engineering Test Prep For FE Exam

Engineering Test Prep For PE Exam

During this six-week intensive course, students will review the breadth of civil engineering as covered in the State Board Civil Engineering Principles and Practices Examination. The course is taught by an expert of faculty of licensed professors and working engineers. The course is specially designed to help you prepare for the PE exam by dividing the topics into digestible portions and delivering the key points likely to be covered in the exam. Topics include statics, strength of materials and structural analysis, gravity, wind and seismic loading, hydraulics and hydrology, water supply engineering, soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering, structural steel, reinforced concrete, wood and masonry design, concrete mix proportioning, traffic analysis, planning and safety, surveying, and construction.

Purchasing & Contract Management

This course unravels the mysteries of the procurement process, differentiating between an invitation to bid and a request for proposals, and helps with the determination of what procurement method would best benefit your unique procurement initiative.  Attendees will learn how to see the bigger procurement picture to get  the desired results and understand the meaning of best value procurement. Participants will be taken through the processes from beginning to end and learn many of the common pitfalls associated with each type of solicitation.  The procurement cycle concludes with successful contract administration, ensuring that the proper mechanisms are in place to monitor and evaluate contractors, suppliers and service providers' performance in the fulfillment of their contractual obligations, and to ensure appropriate actions are taken to promptly remedy any deficiencies observed in contract execution or the contract scope, and terms and conditions. This interactive training course considers fundamental elements of the purchasing process, together with basic tools and techniques used within a purchasing, and the intricacies of contracting and contract administration. 

Attendees will understand the importance a establishing, and maintaining, a strong, supportive relationship between procurement and the internal business component in need of goods and services to fulfill its mission statement.  You will learn the appropriate method for your specific procurement need, how to develop the solicitation template, how to evaluate supplier offers tendered to fulfill your request, and a typical timeline from solicitation to contract award. From the other side of the spectrum, potential suppliers will learn to structure their offer in the format desired for full consideration and in a manner that highlights the qualifications and abilities your firm has to offer.
Attendees will also understand their role in monitoring vendor performance and the necessity of working closely with procurement to ensure that supplier delivered goods and services are provided in accordance with contractual obligations.  The attained knowledge of all the key practical aspects of purchasing and contracting will help all business enterprises in successful supply chain management.

RFP/RFQ/RFI Development & Evaluation

Purchasing and Contracting: Adequately procuring for goods and services will result in significant savings for any business. Participants in this course will learn how to develop various solicitation templates, the appropriate methods of solicitation, and how to evaluate supplier/vendor offers tendered to fulfill the request. 

RFP/RFI/RFQ Development: This presentation reviews the fundamental elements of the purchasing process, together with basic tools and techniques used within a procurement department, and the intricacies of an Invitation to Bid (also called a Request for Quotation) Request for Proposals, Request for Qualifications, or a Request for Information solicitation.   

Attendees will understand the importance of establishing, and maintaining, a strong, supportive relationship that is fundamental in a corporate procurement – trusted supplier relationship. In your role as a potential supplier, you will learn how to “put your best foot forward and accentuate the positive” when responding to a “Best Value” solicitation.

LEED GA Exam Training for Certification

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a leading green building certification system. While buildings can get LEED certified based on their sustainability efforts, individuals can become LEED accredited professionals (LEED AP). The first step of becoming a LEED AP is to pass the LEED Green Associate exam to earn the LEED GA credentials. As United States Green Building Council (USGBC) states “A LEED professional credential signifies that you are a leader in the field and an active participant in the green building movement who contributes expertise to the design, construction, operations and maintenance of buildings and neighborhoods that save energy, use fewer resources, reduce pollution, and contribute to healthier environments for their occupants and the community.” LEED Green Associates earn their credential by passing a two-hour, computer-based exam comprising 100 randomly delivered multiple-choice questions. Cyber Security

Cybersecurity Course will provide you with the skills necessary to pursue an entry-level career in the Cybersecurity field, with the potential to grow as a Cybersecurity professional. The Introduction to Cybersecurity course will cover a variety of modules designed to introduce the student to the basics of IT security and build on existing knowledge of computers, networks, and the Internet.  Topics covered will include security awareness, incident response, cyber attacks, encryption basics, access control, basic network security, basic host and data security, and basic vulnerability assessments. In addition, students will receive career readiness skill development and training in the Microsoft Office Suite. Students will be prepared to sit for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification in Word. At the end of the program, students will take the Microsoft Word exam, which is included in the cost of the course. Students will also be prepared for the Security+ certification.
