What Drives Us

All of us at the Gabelli School of Business are dedicated to one primary objective-the success of our students. This is driven by our Mission and Vision statements, that embrace the importance of experiential learning, ethics and global awareness; our faculty advising program in which all freshmen are assigned a faculty advisor regardless of whether or not they have declared a major; our small class size; the technology that supports the business education offered and the incredible opportunities that await you here and beyond our campus.

Mission

Members of the Dean’s Advisory Council will provide engaged support for GSB’s vision and priorities.   Members will also play a critical role in providing advice regarding multiple issues.  In addition, members will work with GSB leadership in forging deeper connections with professional and industry advisors to ensure the quality of our curriculum, expand resources for our faculty and students, increase the Business School’s experiential educational offerings and build upon our reputation for excellence in business education.

Vision

Our vision is to be the school of choice for those who seek excellence in business education framed by personal attention and enhanced by experiential opportunities and the strongest emphasis on positive outcomes for students.

The Gabelli School of Business has five undergraduate Program Outcomes that are closely tied to mission and that include:

  • Students will incorporate critical and analytical thinking when solving business problems.
  • Students will be able to function successfully in a team environment
  • Students will demonstrate professional communication skills.
  • Students will incorporate ethical dimensions when solving business problems.
  • Students will demonstrate awareness of diversity influences on global business activities.

A group of distinguished business leaders, from the profit and non-profit sectors, provide invaluable external perspective and counsel for the school’s endeavors.
