Residence Hall Final Move-Out Days Announcement

Dear Students,

This message is intended for any residential students who have not been able to totally move-out of their room due to the on-going and disruptive COVID-19 situation. 

As Rhode Island approaches the peak of COVID-19 case activity in the coming weeks, we have found it necessary to delay final move-out opportunities until the end of May and the beginning of June.

Residence Life and Student Life will coordinate two final move-out weekends for students who are able to return to campus.  Individual requests outside these dates will not be possible.  The University is also in the process of developing packing, shipping and storage options with local companies for students unable to return to campus because it would require a flight or other significant hardship.  In this scenario, students will be able to designate a friend closer to the University to identify and pack their belongings on the dates below for a shipping or storage company to pick up.  More information on this option will be provided at a later date.

Final Move-Out Dates:

Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th from 8:30 AM to 6 PM

Friday, June 5th and Saturday, June 6th from 8:30 to 6 PM

If public health conditions and guidelines in Rhode Island result in a decision to cancel the May 29th & May 30th dates, we will add on Sunday, June 7th to the second weekend to provide more times.

More information including registration for move-out days/times, express check-out procedures and personal health precautions will be emailed to students on May 15th. 

Please look for additional information over the weekend detailing plans from Facilities and Residence Life to unplug, defrost and clean all remaining refrigerator/freezer units in the coming weeks.  Students who are not interested in this free service must OPT OUT through an email link provided in a separate communication.
