Planning for Retirement in Public Safety Seminar

Conducted by the Roger Williams University Justice System Training & Research Institute 
in partnership with the New England Association of Chiefs of Police, Inc.

TIME: Registration 8-8:30am; Presentation: 8:30am – 4:30 pm 

LOCATION: Roger Williams University Baypoint Residence & Conference Center, 144 Anthony Road, Portsmouth, Rhode Island 

This course is applicable to anyone that is beginning his or her career or approaching retirement in the coming years. This one-day 8-hour course will cover a wide range of topics related to investments and what steps you should take in order to prepare for a secondary career. A large portion of the coursework will cover investment basics and the steps you can take in order to make your savings and pension last. I will also show you which investments you should avoid and ways in which people in retirement can be taken advantage of by marketing schemes. We will also cover job searches, interviewing skills and resumes/curriculum vitaes. 

This seminar is taught by Sergeant Michael Bronson, South Kingstown (RI) Police Department. Sergeant Bronson obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Management from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. He also completed his advanced graduate studies in Financial Planning at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI. He has a Series 65 license, is an Investment Advisor Representative and currently is working towards his Certified Financial Planner licensing. 

The cost for the seminar is $120, which includes continental breakfast, breaks, lunch, and materials.
