This half-day seminar will focus on how stress affects First Responders or anyone who experiences stress in the workplace or their daily lives. This seminar will specifically focus on how stress effects public safety professionals, and will provide tools and techniques for coping with workplace stress. The focus will be on learning how to use mindfulness meditation to reduce daily stress. Participants will identify types of stressors, gain an understanding of what mindfulness meditation is and the value of meditation versus self-medication. A guided mindfulness meditation will culminate the seminar as a way for the participants to learn how to “address the stress”.

Chief John M. LaCross (ret., Barrington, R.I., Police Department and ret. Major Rhode Island State Police) has 40 years of diverse law enforcement experience and is the instructor for this seminar.
