Strategic planning is critical for ensuring your agency will continue to be a leader in the community it is sworn to serve and be a leader amongst its peers. A strategic plan is a tool for police leadership to use at any time to judge their organization's health at any given moment.

This workshop will provide the tools for writing and implementing a strategic plan for your department.

Participants will explore the benefits of strategic planning and will learn how to facilitate a group meeting to identify agency beliefs, organizational values, and short and long-term goals and objectives. A SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) will be used to plan for and writing an agency Mission and Vision Statement within the overall strategic plan.

This dynamic eight (8) hour workshop, facilitated by Chief Anthony Silva (ret.), is designed to actively involve participants in multiple small group brain storming sessions to prioritize agency needs, identify risks, clarifying organization mandates, and formulate immediate and desired long—term outcomes.

The cost for the seminar is $150.00, which includes continental breakfast, breaks, lunch, and materials. Checks should be made payable to the Roger Williams University JST&RI, 144 Anthony Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
