This one-day course provides police professionals with an in-depth understanding of intelligence-led policing (ILP). This workshop specifically focuses on Dr. Jerry Ratcliffe’s 3-i model featuring interpreting and impacting the criminal environment and influencing decision makers on solutions. It uses the intelligence cycle to frame how police agencies can assess emerging crime and disorder trends. There will be a focus on identifying data sources to conduct problem solving. Innovative techniques such as hot spots policing will be discussed as well. The focus of this effort is to apply ILP in agency situations.
