Danielle Combs

Danielle Combs Student photoDanielle graduated in 2017 with a double major and Legal Studies and Political Science and a minor in Professional and Public Writing. She served as Student Body Vice President, a Presidential Student Ambassador Co-Chair, and a SOAR Facilitator and Board Member during her time at Roger Williams. Danielle entered the writing minor to expand her resume but realized that the minor provided her a deepened understanding of writing that supported her academic and professional goals. By giving her a “toolbox of writing skills,” the minor helped Danielle complete her Legal Thesis on President Trump’s Executive Orders and write the personal statement on her law school application. Currently, Danielle is a law student at the Quinnipiac School of Law School.

“The CORE writing courses were more conventional and back to basic classes, while the advanced electives were more enriching and put the writing basics into practice on a whole new level.”

“Working with the Maher Center [in Writing for Social Change] combined writing with advocacy and became a culmination of all my work at Roger.”

“The audio essay in Multimodal Writing was a mind-blowing and new assignment… it showed me how the minor allows you to develop your writing skills and learn new forms of writing.”

“I consider this minor to be my toolbox. By having these tools at my disposal, I can utilize them in whatever way I want… I can pick and choose how I want to proceed with any writing in the future.”
