Meet the Feinstein Staff

KC Ferrara
Director of the Feinstein Center

KC Ferrara Bio ImageKC has been with the Feinstein Center since January 2002, though she has been affiliated with RWU in various capacities since 1990.  She initially oversaw the Volunteer Center, which evolved into the Feinstein Center and led students on the University's first Alternative Spring Break in 1994. This experience was transformative, pointing her towards student engagement and leadership.  KC has a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Suffolk University (MA) and a Master's Degree in Counseling and Guidance from Providence College (RI). KC is also an adjunct faculty member, teaching Perspectives in Human Behavior with a focus on community, social justice and social change.  She is a board member of the East Bay Community Action Program and East Bay Habitat for Humanity. KC lives in Bristol with her husband and two children. “Everywhere I go – the grocery store, downtown, the bank – people stop me to tell me what a wonderful job RWU students do in the community. I am incredibly proud to be a part of their work".

 

Juan Carlos Payero
Student Development Coordinator for Community Engagement

Juan Carlos serves as the Student Development Coordinator for Community Engagement and has been with Roger Williams University since 2018. In his role, Juan Carlos organizes student development programs for all students engaged in the Community Partnership Center and provides programmatic oversight of our Hassenfeld and Stempel Fellowship programs. Originally from New York City, he has worked in various social service and education organizations with a primary focus of student and community development. Juan Carlos received his Bachelor’s Degree from St. John’s University and his Master of Public Administration from Baruch College, City University of New York (CUNY). Outside of the University, Juan Carlos is actively involved in various issues in the Portsmouth community and in Freemasonry across Rhode Island.

 

Cassandra North Bio Picture

Cassandra North
Community Service Work Study

Cassandra (Class of 2020) is double majoring in Spanish and secondary education and a minor in French. She has been working at the Feinstein Center since fall 2016. She is an Resident Assistant and is a member of Ballroom Dance Club. She volunteers with the performing arts programs in her hometown and after graduation plans on becoming a high school Spanish teacher.

 

Haley Mock Bio Picture

Haley Mock
Community Service Work Study

Haley (Class of 2019) is a political science major and history minor. She’s a part of CEN and at the Feinstein Center she organizes community service events. These events include 5th Grade Day, Giving Baskets, and the Giving Tree. Haley plans to work in some form of national government after graduation.

 

Kristina Renaud Bio Picture

Kristina (Class of 2020) is an honors student with a double major in marketing and Spanish with a minor in economics. Currently she is involved in four clubs including: The Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC), American Advertising Federation, the Rotaract Club and the Multicultural Student Union. After graduating, she plans to find an MBA program around the Los Angeles, California area with the hopes of eventually working as a marketing manager either in the fashion industry or for a sustainable company.

Andrew (Class of 2022) is a Web Development major. He is involved with the Boy Scouts of America and is an Eagle Scout with his local troop. He lives in Leicester, Massachusetts. He likes service because it proves to him that he can still do good in the world and he likes to give his time back to people that need it.

Taylor (Class of 2022) is currently an undecided major that loves to give back to the community and providing help to anyone that needs it. She is from Stoughton, Massachusetts.

 

Becky Trefethen Bio Image

Becky Trefethen
Community Service Work Study

Becky (Class of 2021) is an architecture major that hails from Bristol, Rhode Island. She loves community service due to her being a Girl Scout for most of her life. She wants to be able to give back to the community for her major and plans to work heavily with communities that need to be rebuilt due to storm damage. She is currently a part of the American Institute of Architecture Students - Special Events and Fundraising Coordinator and she is a Resident Assistant for Willow. She also participates in the Food For Recovery Network and is a Freshmen Mentor for Architecture.

 

Elle Gendreau Bio Picture

Elle (Class of 2022) is from Mattapoisett, MA and is currently undeclared. She is the secretary of Maple Hall Council and a member of the RWU Dance Theatre Company. She loves being able to help people, as she knows you affected them in a positive way.
