Community Engagement Transportation
Securing Transportation for Community Engagement Activities at RWU
There are several ways to transport RWU faculty and students to an off-campus community engagement site. Selecting the best method depends on the number of participants in the trip and the destination.
Groups larger than 20 people:
If you are interested in booking transportation for a group larger than 20 individuals, there are two options:
- For groups from 20-34 people, you should consider utilizing an RWU shuttle bus. There are use fees for shuttles based on the duration of usage. Funding may be provided through your department so please check with your Dean for more information. For more information on RWU shuttles, contact Kate Tobin in the Department of Public Safety at email@example.com or by calling at 401-254-3703.
- For groups larger than 30 people, consider utilizing an outside bus company (RWU has contracts with several local companies). There are use fees for buses based on the distance traveled and the duration of usage. Funding may be provided through your department so please check with your Dean for more information. For more information on bus companies approved for RWU programs, contact Christina Gagliardi in the Department of Purchasing at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling at 401-254-3743
Groups smaller than 20 people:
RWU has a fleet of seven (7) and twelve (12) passenger vans designated for Community Engagement programs and trips. To book these vans, please complete and submit the Reservation Request for Community Engagement Van Form.
