Graduate Assistant: Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution

Position Description

Reporting directly to the Director of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution, the Graduate Assistant (GA) will serve as a multifaceted asset to the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director/Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution with the overall management of the Office.
  • Adjudicate alleged conduct code violations as hearing officer, imposing on and off campus behavioral sanctions.
  • Meet individually with students to assist them in making appropriate choices. Speak with parents/guardians, in accordance with FERPA, to discuss conduct situations and strategies with their student.
  • Provide proactive programs and/or educational initiatives based on needs of student population.
  • Demonstrate positive attitudes and positive actions through a display of courtesy, congeniality, cooperation, sensitivity, and professionalism.
  • Coordinate student referrals to appropriate offices for necessary intervention (e.g. Counseling, Health Services, Alcohol and Drug Education, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively within and across divisions on institutional priorities
  • Other duties as may be necessary
Expectations
  • Graduate Assistant must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality policies (and sign confidentiality agreement) when working with students and accessing student records. 
  • Be in good academic and judicial standing with the University.

  • Approximately 8-10 hours/week paid at $15/hour up to $3,000 per academic year.
Placement Term

The position will be effective for the 2022-2023 academic year with the option to be considered for further placement for students pursuing a two-year plan of study.
